John Urbanek
Chris Debellis has been training in Krav Maga since 2004 and has been an instructor with Krav Maga
Milwaukee since 2007. Chris has experience in several martial arts including Jeet Kune Do and boxing.
Chris is one of Krav Maga Milwaukee’s most technical instructors and enjoys working with students
to help them refine their skills. Chris is also a Human Resources professional at Kohl’s Corporation in
Menomonee Falls.
Andy Brand began his martial arts training in 2006, practicing Kenpo Karate. As Andy’s interest in
martial arts grew he began to seek new experiences and challenges in martial arts, that’s when he saw
Krav Maga on a television show and was hooked. Andy began training at Krav Maga Milwaukee in
September of 2007 and quickly excelled and was sent through the instructor certification program in
the summer of 2008. Andy is currently a student at UWM studying for a degree in the Health Sciences.
Andy also enjoys cycling and other types of endurance training and his interest in fitness clearly carries
over to his Krav Maga teaching style.
Jason Denzer was looking to continue training after taking time off from doing Kendo for two years. He found a magazine article and television program about the world's deadliest martial arts, Krav Maga was near the top on both lists and he started training in 2007. He is certified in the Safe Kids curriculum at KMM and also certified with the Spikey Self Defense and pain compliance tool. Jason was certified in Krav Maga this past Sept. out in California with John Whitman and Krav Maga Alliance. He is also trained in Kapap and completed his phase 1 Kapap Instructor training this past April 2011.
Michael Poser has been training in Krav Maga since 2008 and became a certified Krav Maga instructor this past Sept. with John Whitman and Krav Maga Alliance. After being invited to class one day by is father who had already been training for over a year, he quickly became hooked to the high intensity workout and real life self-defense tactics. In addition to seeing Krav Maga as a great way to get in shape while learning to defend oneself, he also believes it is a program that will build confidence that will carry over into all aspects of life. Michael also enjoys training in boxing, he also did some training in Kapap at KMM. Michael is an Educational Assistant at Hope Christian Middle School in Milwaukee.
Melanie Kazel has extensive experience in Yoga, Krav Maga, and fitness. She is a nationally licensed
school psychologist employed in the Milwaukee Public School district. Melanie has vast experience
working with children in a variety of settings including coaching, mentoring, and counseling. She
currently holds a 200+ hour yoga certification and is a registered yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance.
Melanie is certified in the Yoga Kids curriculum and is currently leading a student health initiative
promoting yoga in the classroom. She enjoys a challenging and fun yoga practice and is passionate about
sharing the benefits of yoga with her students. She has been a Krav Maga student since 2007 and is
certified in the SAFE Kids curriculum. Melanie is committed to promoting mental and physical health in
her students. Melanie developed Krav Maga Milwaukee’s Yoga program in 2010, and in the same year
was named the SAFE Kids Director for Krav Maga Milwaukee.
Jane Dawson has been with Krav Maga Milwaukee since 2008, she has also trained in Kapap. She brings a wealth of real world knowledge to KMM and enjoys sharing her passion for self defense with women and teen girls. Jane is certified in the Safe Kids curriculum focusing on self defense for teen girls. She brings in monthly workshops to the inner city girls at Milwaukee Academy of Science. She is a certified instructor for Spikey Self Defense and pain compliance tool. Jane specializes working with women and teens of violent encounters and also domestic violence victims on a one-on-one basis. She brings self-defense and empowerment workshops to women's groups, corporate groups, colleges and schools. Jane became Outreach Coordinator in 2009 and accepted the General Manager position in 2011 for Krav Maga Milwaukee.
